A very easy yet fun knit, this unisex cardigan is sure to become your go-to knit for babies and kids. The circular yoke and cuffs feature a simple yet unusual stitch that lends a sophisticated touch to a classic and comfortable garment.
Construction:
This cardigan is knit seamlessly from the top down, featuring a circular yoke embellished with an easy textured stitch. Stitches for the sleeves are put on hold while the body of the cardigan is worked, then they are put back on needles and worked in the round. Button bands are worked as you go.

casting on, knitting, purling, increasing, decreasing, knitting in the round, picking up stitches, binding off.

3mo (6mo, 12mo, 18mo // 2yo, 4yo, 6yo, 8yo)
To fit chest: 16 (17, 18, 19 // 21, 23, 25, 26.5) inches or 40.5 (43, 45.5, 48.5 // 53.5, 58.5, 63.5, 67.5) cm.
Garment chest: 18.75 (19.5, 21, 21.75 // 23.5, 26.25, 28.5, 30.25) inches or 47.5 (49.5, 53.5, 55 // 59.5, 66.5, 72.5, 77) cm
Yarn requirements:
Approximately 275 (300, 325, 350 // 375, 450, 600, 700) yards or 251 (274, 297, 320 // 343, 411, 549, 640) meters of worsted to aran weight merino or merino blend yarn.
Needles:
US 8 or 5mm needle (or size needed to match stockinette stitch gauge).
1 set of matching dpns for sleeves.
US 6 or 4mm needle (or size needed to match garter stitch gauge).
Notions:
4 stitch markers
tapestry needle
2 stitch holders or pieces of scrap yarn for sleeves
three 5/8-inch or 1.5cm buttons, or more if desired
Gauge:
18 sts x 26 rows = 4 inches or 10cm in stockinette stitch using larger needles, after blocking
20 sts x 48 rows (i.e. 24 ridges) = 4 inches or 10cm in garter stitch using smaller needles, after blocking
