Sizes: 1 (2, 3, 4, 5)
Finished bust: 87 (94, 106, 118, 125) cm / 34 (38, 42, 46, 49½)” – worn with 10 cm / 4” positive ease
Important sizing note: Roquaine is intended to be worn with positive ease around the bust but it has fitted sleeves. Working a size with less positive ease may result in sleeves
that are too snug, so please take time to check the upper arm circumference of your chosen size.
Yarn: DK
Yarn requirements: 900/1000/1100/1200/1300 m
Gauge: 19 sts & 28 rows = 10 cm / 4” over stocking stitch on 4 mm needles after blocking.
Needles: 4 mm / US 6 circular needle, 80 cm (32”) length +/- DPNs for sleeves
3.75 mm / US 5 circular needle, 80 cm (32”) length +/- DPNs for sleeves
Always use a needle size that will result in the correct gauge after blocking.
Notions: Smooth scrap yarn in a similar weight for provisional cast-on, stitch markers, stitch holders or scrap yarn.
Notes: Rocquaine begins with a provisional cast-on and is worked from the bottom-up before splitting for the yoke and working flat in rows. Shoulders are joined and the neck and sleeves picked up and worked in the round. The bottom rib bands are worked flat from the provisional cast-on with the back rib worked to a slightly longer length than the front. Where only one number is given this applies to all sizes.
