Beth Cardigan by Stella Ackroyd
Worked in aran weight yarn, Beth works up quickly and there is always something going on to stop you from being bored! The deep moss stitch borders are topped with a pretty eyelet detail, then the body uses a ribbed edging to help create a flattering fit. Instead of armhole shaping, I have used a traditional gansey-style garter stitch armhole detailing to help keep the sleeve fabric economical and well-fitting, and the buttonhole border features the same eyelet detail as the body borders, so that you can then use the eyelets to secure as many or as few buttons as you wish.
Worked from the bottom upwards to short row shaped shoulders and 3 needle bound-off seams, the sleeves are then picked-up and worked downwards, leaving just the sleeve and body seams for sewing up. Pretty vents add ease and interest.
