The Nelson Pullover is a modern knitter’s take on men’s athletic wear. This sporty, youthful pullover features a continuous cable that runs up the sleeve and shoulder into the cowl neck. The drawstring ties add charm as well as warmth in cold weather.

Men’s S (M, L, XL, 2XL): to fit chest size 34/36 (38/40, 42/44, 46/48, 50/52)”/86/91 (96/102, 107/112, 117/122, 127/132) cm.
Finished Measurements
36½ (40, 44½, 48, 52½)”/93 (101.5, 113, 122, 133.5) cm chest circumference. Pullover shown measures 44½“/113 cm; modeled with 6”/ 15 cm of positive ease.

Meterage: 1120 (1344, 1344, 1568, 1792) m
Needles
Size US 6/4 mm: 32”/80 cm circular and set of double-pointed needles.
Size US 7/4.5 mm: 16”/40 cm and 32”/80 cm circular and set of double-pointed needles.
Adjust needle size if necessary to obtain the correct gauge.

Gauge
18 sts and 26 rows = 4”/10 cm in Stockinette stitch on larger needle;
20 sts of Sleeve chart = 3”/7.5 cm wide on larger needle.
Notes
• This pullover is worked from the top down. The saddle shoulders are worked back and forth, then stitches for the back and fronts are picked up along the edges of the saddles and worked back and forth to the underarm. The pieces are then joined and the lower body is worked in the round to the lower edge.
• Stitches for the sleeves are picked up around the armhole and the sleeves are worked from the top down in the round with short-rows to shape the sleeve cap.
